Judi Paparelli
Radio and television veteran
Judi Paparelli is a media entrepreneur known for her brainpower, personality and
elegant delivery.
Before going national, New
York native Judi Paparelli hosted talk shows in Laconia, New Hampshire;
Charleston, South Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia and Boston, Massachusetts. While in Charleston, she won the city's prestigious
"Young Career Woman" award.
In Boston, Judi's intelligent
wit made her a popular traffic reporter and sidekick on Kiss 108 Radio, and News
& Entertainment Director on WROR Radio's morning show.
A media pioneer, Paparelli
developed TRAFFIC WATCH, a traffic reporting system broadcast jointly by
Boston's WBZ-TV and KISS 108 Radio. The communication system incorporated
graphics, live cameras and traffic construction forecasting -- techniques now
widely used across the country. For her efforts and innovation in behalf of the
City of Boston, Judi Paparelli was awarded a special honor by then-Boston Mayor
Raymond Flynn. The U.S. Department of Transportation also recognized her project
for its success in bringing together local, state and national officials as well
as transportation experts in order to coordinate effective communication.
While broadcasting in Boston,
Judi was tapped by Talk America Radio Network to create her own show, and "JudiWorld:
A Global Radio Adventure" was born. "It's a show created for our
time," Paparelli says, "Because today… global is local." Her
hosting style, direct-yet-respectful delivery and ability to connect with
listeners from all demographics have been described as "controversy with
class."
Known for her live special
event coverage, Judi was chosen to carry the Olympic Torch for the City of
Boston, sailed the Tall Ships, covered the Boston Marathon, the U.S.S.
Constitution "Old Ironsides" 200th Birthday Sail and
presidential primaries and inaugurations. Judi traveled to Saudi Arabia in 2002
with a delegation of eight American radio hosts, reported live from the 2004
Democratic and Republican National Conventions and provided on-scene radio
coverage during and after four hurricanes -- Frances, Jeanne, Ivan and Charley
-- struck Florida in 2004. In 2008 Paparelli covered the presidential election
from the perspective of a grass roots campaign worker. She continues to provide
workplace coverage, entertainment reports and live event coverage for media
outlets across the country. Her trademark original "Audio Diaries"
invite listeners inside whatever world Judi covers.
As a TV staff writer and
copywriter, Judi has written, created and voiced scores of successful radio and
television commercials and developed advertising proposals for clients and
sponsors around the world, including GM, Bermuda Tourism, Formula Boats, Honda
and Vacation Outlets.
Judi produces and co-hosts
"Hollywood Plus: The Radio Show" with Hollywood storyteller Stephen
Schochet.
She is a public speaker and
consultant on communication and workplace issues.
Broadcaster and writer
Paparelli is also currently at work on her international radio documentary and
book focusing on the effects of positive communication on daily life, business
productivity and workplace atmosphere.
